At present, there are 52 enterprises above designated size related to this industry， with shipbuilding capacity of 720,000 DWT and sales income of 34.1 billion yuan in 2017.It has cultivated an industrial cluster with leading companies of Huanghai shipbuilding, Shipbuilding industry, Baibuting, Huadong Shipbuilding, Xixiakou Ship Repairing, Samsung Heavy Industry,etc.In 2008, it was identified by the provincial government as one of the six ships industry clusters. In 2009, it was identified as high-quality shipbuilding base of Shandong province.
