Located on the easternmost tip of Shandong Peninsula, Rongcheng City is surrounded by sea on three sides with a coastline of 500 kilometers and continent area of 1,526 KM². It is 94 nautical miles away from South Korea, which is the nearest area to South Korea on Shandong Peninsula.Rongcheng consists of Rongcheng Economic Development Zone, Shidao Administrative Zone, Haoyunjiao Tourism and Holiday Resort,and administrates 12 towns, 10 sub-districts, 825 administrative villages and 118 neighborhood committees, with a population of 670,000.

Cultural and History
As early as the neolithic era, there has been residents, and Buye city was established in the Western Zhou Dynasty. The first emperor Qin came to Rongcheng twice for building bridge and setting temple for glory, viewing sea to worship the sun. The Western Han Dynasty set the Buye county, the Hanwu emperor came to worship the Sun God.Qing Yongzheng 13th year (1735 year), it was set for Rongcheng county.After the Xinhai revolution, it was set for the the national government of Rongcheng county, the anti-Japanese democratic government of Rongcheng county; After founding new country, the people's government of Rongcheng county was set, It was upgraded from county to city in 1988. As the old revolutionary base, Rongcheng has been known for more than 160 above deputy military cadres, more than 50 provincial leading cadres.

Rongcheng belongs to warm humid monsoon climate.The annual average temperature is around 12℃, with 2600 hours of sunshine and rainfall of 800 mm or so.Adhere to the ecological environment as the most precious development resources, according to the provincial national leading standards, we continue to carry out the key industry environmental protection and improvement, comprehensively promote the aim of " breathing freely and living comfortable in Rongcheng”. There are 10 gulfs, 10 natural bathing beaches and 115 islands distributed on the thousand miles of shoreline. It boasts two national forest parks--Mt. Weide and Mt. Tiecha, Chengshantou National-level forest park, National Preservation Zone of Swans, 3 national AAAA level scenic spots of Chengshan Cape, Chishan Fahua Temple, and the Border Trade Town of China and South Korea. It is the hometown of China swans and black-tailed seagulls.There are 29 industrial and agricultural tourism demonstration sites above the provincial level, 9 tourism towns, 20 characteristic villages in Rongcheng. It was identified as the national film and television shooting scene. There are 11 films and television plays shot in Rongcheng in 2017, it held Rongcheng International Coastal Marathon, Internatioal UAV Competition among 8 high-end competing events .

Approved to build pelagic fishing base, Rongcheng possesses 317 professional ocean-going fishing vessels, accounting for 70% of the province.With breeding area of 582 thousand mu, it owns 5 national marine ranches, 11 national leisure fishery demonstration areas, receiving the title of national marine ranch demonstration area.The output of aquatic products is 1.23 million tons, ranking first at the county level for 35 consecutive years.Among them, the production of kelp, sea cucumber and abalone accounted for 31%, 14% and 5% of the country respectively, and was rated as China’s Capital of Kelp.

Rongcheng is the starting point of high-speed railway, expressway and national highway.The Rongcheng-Qingdao intercity railway was opened in Dec., 2014, with an average daily passenger flow of more than 10,000 people during the peak tourism season. Rongcheng-Laizhou high-speed railway is being planned and built. The city downtown is 20 kilometers away from Weihai airport. Rongcheng has two first-class open ports, Shidao and Longyan and 10 first-class open harbor districts, and has opened 15 international and domestic routes directly to South Korean ports of Pyongyang, Kunsan and Inchon. It has approved designated qualifications of imported meat, chilled aquatic products, edible aquatic animals. The port cargo throughput capacity was over 25 million tons, and port exit and entry passengers were 300,000 person-times, accounting for 1/3 of that of Shandong province. The imports and exports totaled 22 billion yuan in 2017.

We will build six professional platforms, including Weihai (Rongcheng) International Marine Commodities Trading Center, platform of “same line, same standard, same quality as exported food to Japan and South Korea" , and the e-commerce platform for RV parts, to accelerate the transformation of old and new driving forces.With an annual processing capacity of 2.75 million tons and a sales revenue of over 130 billion yuan, the company has won the titles of China's Famous Marine Food City and China's Green Food City, and has been approved as the national new industrial (food) industry demonstration base and the national first batch of food military and civilian integration demonstration zone.The manufacturing industry, with 130 enterprises above the scale, is identified as the high-quality shipbuilding production base of Shandong province, the new energy automobile motor production base of Shandong province, and the motor export base of Shandong province. Rolling passenger ships and heavy crane ships respectively account for 70% and 80% of the national market.
